WhatsApp for iOS adds message pinning and self-destructing voice messages in update 23.25.79

WhatsApp has released a new public update for iOS, highlighted by the ability to pin messages within group chats, according to reports from the WABetaInfo portal. The release identifies the build as 23.25.79 and, in several regions, users can already download it from the App Store. A global rollout is anticipated in the coming weeks, bringing the feature to a broader audience for iPhone users.

Message pins in this update are confined to group conversations. Unlike some competing platforms, WhatsApp does not offer a persistent, locked-in message display outside the chat thread. Instead, options to pin a message last between 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days, after which the post is automatically unpinned. Users retain the ability to unpin at any time, manually, as needed.

Version 23.25.79 for iOS also introduces self-destructing voice messages. These are audio notes that are automatically removed from the chat after the recipient has listened to them for the first time, enhancing privacy for short-term sharing.

WhatsApp remains a widely used instant messaging service owned by Meta Platforms, Inc. The platform supports a global user base that numbers in the billions of monthly active users, underscoring its reach across many markets and languages. The service continually evolves to address user needs, balancing convenience with privacy considerations that matter to people around the world.

Recent discussions in digital technology circles note shifts in how various regions engage with AI-driven tools. Observers have highlighted increased activity and interest in neural networks among different user groups, reflecting broader curiosity about how automated systems can assist communication, productivity, and information access.
