Russian studio Cyberia Nova has shared an expansive gameplay video for the title Troubles, showcasing core combat mechanics, gear, and several other facets of the project. The clip is available for viewing on VKontakte within the Issues group gallery.
The video follows a let’s-play format and features renowned Russian streamer Alin Rin as the host. The run time is roughly sixty minutes and includes at least one story mission, complete with cutscenes, combat sequences, inventory management, and more.
“We chose to roll out the next Developer Diary in an unusual let’s-play video format and invited Alina Rin to assist,” note the developers in their accompanying comments. “Please support the project and let the engine roar!”
Smoot is a Russian action role-playing game set during the Time of Troubles in 1612. Its storyline is adapted from Mikhail Zagoskin’s novel Yuri Miloslavsky, or the Russians in 1612. The developers indicate that the game’s scenario will move with greater momentum and dynamism than the literary source.
The planned release date for Troubles is April 4, 2024, and the title will debut exclusively on the VK Play digital distribution platform.
A notable figure in the gaming press is credited as having previously authored a Russian publication about games and is now involved in the Tomb Raider remaster project, contributing his insights to the broader discourse around classic game reimaginings.
