An iPhone Telegram update was issued to fix a resending error that led to overheating, a fault identified by Gadget and covered by Rozetked.

Telegram for iOS has been updated to version 11.7.2. In this release, developers addressed several issues, including overheating problems on iPhone devices. The update is now available in the App Store.

In December 2024, the iOS version of Telegram encountered overheating problems that were fixed in 11.5.3. After the February update, the issue reappeared and was resolved again in version 11.7.2.

There was no such problem in the Android version of the application.

The exact cause of the heating is not known. Reports from iPhone users indicate that Telegram could cause the processor, and even the camera system, to heat up during use. The heating tends to stop when the app is closed or when other apps are in use. In some cases, even basic messaging activity produced heat levels higher than those seen during playing graphically demanding games.

Earlier reports suggested that new iPhone models might disappoint some users.
