GigaChat, the artificial intelligence project developed by Sberbank engineers, is now accessible to a broad audience. This development was announced by the bank’s press service and reported by TASS.
Available information indicates that a dedicated bot will soon be launched on VKontakte and in the Telegram messenger. Moreover, Andrey Belevtsev, Sberbank vice president and head of Technologies, noted on the company’s blog that businesses and developers will have the chance to integrate with the neural network through a cloud API.
The company underscored that Sberbank is among the first in Russia to publicly release pre-trained models such as ruGPT, Kandinsky 2.2, and FRED-T5, which form the foundation of its productive AI service. This stance aligns with Sberbank’s broader mission to accelerate the growth of the open source community and advance artificial intelligence technologies within the country.
According to Sberbank’s description, the neural network is designed to unlock a wide range of capabilities for users working with visual content and generating text. At present, GigaChat is already available to customers who own SberBoom smart speakers. The bank’s press service indicated that the neural network will later be integrated with all devices equipped with the Salyut voice assistant, expanding access across the company’s ecosystem.
This move is part of a broader strategy to enhance AI accessibility and support developers, researchers, and entrepreneurs who are building on or around Sberbank’s AI infrastructure. The timeline suggests a steady rollout that emphasizes compatibility with popular communication platforms and a cloud-based integration model to streamline deployment for various use cases.
In previous statements, Sberbank also hinted at plans to launch an innovative payment service that would enable purchases to be paid from multiple accounts, reflecting the bank’s ongoing exploration of AI-powered tools to improve financial operations and customer experience.
