Samsung plans to bring One UI 7 to roughly 50 smartphone and tablet models in 2024, a forecast reported by GizmoChina based on a source from SamMobile.
Meanwhile, Android 15 is anticipated to reach broad distribution around July 2024. Samsung is expected to layer One UI 7 on top of that Android release, a process likely to extend over several additional months. This means a noticeable wait remains before Galaxy devices start receiving the upgrade.
Official device eligibility from Samsung has not been published yet. SamMobile editors have compiled a provisional list by examining the company’s past update patterns. Based on historical behavior, the publication anticipates that flagship Galaxy S series models will receive Android 15 with One UI 7, including S21, S21 Plus, S21 Ultra, S21 FE, S22, S22 Plus, S22 Ultra, S23 FE, S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, S24, and S24 Ultra. The Galaxy Z family — Z Flip 3, Z Flip 4, Z Flip 5, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 3, Z Fold 4, Z Fold 5, and Z Fold 6 — is also expected to be covered. In the Galaxy A lineup, models such as A14, A15, A23, A24, A25, A33, A34, A53, A54, A72, and A73 are listed as potential recipients. The Galaxy Tab series includes S8, S8 Plus, S8 Ultra, S9, S9 Plus, S9 Ultra, S9 FE, and S9 FE Plus. The Galaxy F series mentions F54, F34, and F15, while the Galaxy M series is noted with M15, M33, M53, M34, and M54.
SamMobile’s projected rollout is described as following an order from the Galaxy S devices to the Galaxy M devices, aligning with Samsung’s customary upgrade progression across families.
There is also a note that Android 15 may drop support for some older apps, a factor that could influence user experiences on existing devices. Consumers in Canada and the United States should anticipate variations in timing by model and region, as is common with major Android updates. This guidance reflects industry patterns and published forecasts rather than an immediate, uniform release across all devices.
