Mobile devices powered by artificial intelligence are no longer a rumor. After months of anticipation, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S24, the newest generation of its flagship smartphone and the first to integrate Google Cloud’s advanced AI features into a mobile experience built for everyday use in North America and beyond.
Samsung reached a collaboration with Google Cloud, the cloud computing branch responsible for expanding text, audio, and video capabilities on Galaxy devices. The Gemini technology that underpins this Generative AI push was announced late last year as a key enabler for smarter interactions on mobile hardware.
The Galaxy S24 lineup, regarded as Samsung’s most capable phones to date, is expected to significantly improve everyday productivity thanks to Google AI integration. Improvements span core apps such as Keyboard, Notes, and Voice Recorder. For instance, Voice Recorder can automatically transcribe spoken highlights into written text for easier reference. Samsung Electronics’ Deputy General Manager Janghyun Yoon emphasized,
“Google and Samsung share a belief that technology should be more useful and accessible to everyone.”

The partnership empowers Galaxy S24 users to interact with their phones in a more practical way, simplifying tasks and expanding on-device intelligence.
A standout feature is enhanced on-device search. Android users will not need to launch a separate search engine to learn about objects or terms. By simply circling a product on video content or tapping the screen, users can pull up details about the item, such as the make and model, without leaving the current app.
Gemini enables automatic text translation and the ability to generate messages per user commands. It can even craft emoji variations based on photos. Android Auto will also benefit, offering faster, more intuitive responses while driving through an AI-assisted interface.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra, Galaxy S24+, and Galaxy S24 are positioned to redefine mobile experiences through on-device AI. AI enhances nearly every interaction—from predictive text and call translations to expanded creative control with Galaxy’s ProVisual Engine and smarter search capabilities that help users explore their surroundings with a new perspective.
“The Galaxy S24 series transforms how people connect with the world and marks a new era of mobile innovation”, stated TM Roh, President and Director of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics. “Galaxy AI will continue our tradition of innovation and a deep understanding of how people use their phones.”
“Samsung recognizes that artificial intelligence must extend beyond devices to touch every aspect of daily life”, commented David Alonso, head of Mobile Experience for Samsung Electronics Iberia. “With this launch, we begin a new era in which Samsung anchors itself as a leading force for AI integration—open, sustainable, inclusive, and above all safe—across users’ lives.”
