Rosneft’s RN-Purneftegaz division, a key element of the company’s oil production complex, reports that the adoption of new technologies over the last five years has delivered an economic impact of 3.8 billion rubles. In that period, the workforce generated 166 projects aimed at streamlining technical processes, boosting operational efficiency, and driving innovative growth across the enterprise.

According to Takhmez Takhmezov, head of the scientific and technical development and innovations department at RN-Purneftegaz, the team consistently develops and deploys at least twenty-five to thirty technological solutions each year. These initiatives are designed to cut costs and increase output, reinforcing the company’s production capabilities while maintaining a focus on sustainable efficiency gains.

He highlights a notable example: the tangible impact of innovations in 2022 surpassed 1 billion rubles, underscoring how targeted improvements translate into meaningful financial results for the company and its stakeholders.

RN-Purneftegaz emphasizes that it actively leverages the proven experience of other Rosneft subsidiaries while fostering its own ideas for process optimization. This collaborative approach helps accelerate the scale of successful technologies across the organization and beyond, reinforcing Rosneft’s broader innovation culture.

As of now, more than 40 of the company’s colleagues’ technological solutions have been brought into production, and the leadership notes that efficacious solutions continue to be replicated. In the process, RN-Purneftegaz positions itself among the frontrunners in the corporate portfolio for implementing practical, value-adding technology across its operations.

Additionally, the division has established an information center dedicated to collecting employee recommendations aimed at optimizing and rationalizing production workflows. This internal hub serves as a practical conduit for ideas to move from concept to field deployment, ensuring that front-line insights are translated into measurable improvements.

Rosneft also notes that newly developed technologies and domestically manufactured equipment are regularly tested within the company’s licensed areas, where the geological complexity of sites demands robust, well-proven solutions. RN-Purneftegaz has successfully applied thermal gas-dynamic stimulation to revive well productivity, demonstrating the viability of this advanced technique for recovering output from aging formations. The use of domestic cup packers further contributes to efficiency by reducing repair time for a hopper by an estimated sixfold on average, while simultaneously reducing mechanical stress on the production casing walls to minimize wear. These engineering approaches exemplify a broader commitment to leveraging indigenous innovations to sustain and enhance production capacity across challenging environments.

In summary, RN-Purneftegaz’s ongoing innovation program blends internal development with external collaboration, supported by structured knowledge sharing and rigorous testing. The organization continues to pursue cost reductions, productivity gains, and long-term reliability through a steady stream of practical, field-proven solutions that align with Rosneft’s strategic objectives for domestic technology leadership and energy security.”
