NVIDIA GTX 1630 Release Shift and Broad Card Delays Explained

NVIDIA has pushed back the launch of its most affordable GTX line member, the GTX 1630. The original plan pegged a June 15 release, but today the company confirms no new date and has issued notes to partners indicating a release date is yet to be determined. The pause appears linked to supply constraints in essential components, with partners already shipping early GTX 1630 units that are not available widely enough to meet demand.

The GTX 1630 is positioned as a successor to the aging GTX 1050 Ti. It relies on the TU117 GPU core that also powers the GTX 1650. In this configuration, clock speeds are reduced, the number of compute units is lower, and the memory bus width is narrower, delivering a more modest performance profile aimed at entry level gaming and compact systems.

Meanwhile, other NVIDIA products are facing follow-on delays. The RTX 4090 has moved its release window from August to September, and additional models in the RTX lineup have shifted toward later dates as well. The RTX 4080 has slipped into October and the RTX 4070 into November. This pattern underscores broader supply chain challenges affecting component availability and production ramp for multiple GPU families.
