The Nubia Music smartphone from ZTE was unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, with details reported by GizmoChina. The launch showcased a model that aims to stand out through design and audio capabilities, capturing attention in the crowded booth lineup of the Barcelona fair.
A standout feature is the back cover, along with a speaker array and camera module that draw the eye and promise a distinctive user experience. Notably, the device doubles as a practical audio tool with two 3.5 mm headphone jacks, a rarity in many contemporary smartphones. ZTE describes Nubia Music as having audio performance that is significantly louder than typical phones, claiming up to six times the volume of standard devices. The on-device audio processing is said to use artificial intelligence to filter high-frequency content, allowing the speaker to stay clear at very high sound levels without distortion.
From a hardware perspective, Nubia Music runs on a Unisoc processor and is offered with 8 GB of RAM and either 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. The display is a 6.6-inch IPS panel with HD+ resolution and a refresh rate that can reach up to 90 Hz, delivering smooth visuals for everyday use and media consumption.
On the battery front, the phone packs a 5000 mAh cell and supports fast wired charging, supporting quick power top-ups during a busy day. The practical emphasis on a larger battery aligns with the device’s focus on media consumption and extended use, especially in scenarios where audio performance is a priority.
Pricing for Nubia Music starts at $149, with approximate currency conversions referenced in February 2024. Earlier in 2024, ZTE had also introduced the Nubia Flip 5G, a foldable model priced around $600, illustrating the brand’s broader strategy to cover both entry-level and premium segments within its Nubia lineup. These figures reflect initial market positioning and are subject to regional variations and future revisions as the product line evolves.
