A smart solutions provider, MTT, has integrated a voice robot on the VoiceBox platform for the Russian Radio Ural station located in Yekaterinburg, according to the company’s press service. The digital assistant is designed to accept congratulatory requests from radio listeners live through a specially designated telephone line, enabling on-air moments to be shared in real time.
Executives noted that the deployed voice assistants operate across a wide range of sectors and use cases, from healthcare to the energy sector. The team behind the project expressed enthusiasm that a radio station can now help listeners celebrate milestones, send heartfelt wishes to loved ones, and create an uplifting mood for audiences. Dmitry Gordienko, head of the MTT project office, highlighted the broader impact of these tools, pointing to the versatility and value of voice automation in modern outreach strategies.
According to the company, the voice robot greets callers, identifies the caller’s city, confirms whom to congratulate, and selects the appropriate song to accompany the message. The assistant delivers this experience using the familiar voices of popular radio hosts, adding a personal touch that resonates with listeners while maintaining efficiency.
Larisa Ryabinina, host of the Den-Denskaya program, remarked that the fastest path for listeners to submit their requests is now through a single phone call. Previously, fans would have needed to compose letters or send emails to communicate their wishes. The new system streamlines this process, expediting on-air acknowledgments and enhancing engagement with the audience.
From a workflow perspective, the digital assistant reduces the burden on staff by handling incoming requests and transcribing them automatically. The AI processes and organizes the information, and in some cases performs tasks that would typically require human intervention. This capability translates into time savings and smoother operation for the station’s team.
MTT also explained that the assistant records all call details and transfers them as text to messaging channels used by radio personnel. This approach provides a reliable record of listener requests and ensures timely delivery of the congratulatory messages across the station’s communication tools.
Since its launch in early September, the voice assistant has received congratulations and well wishes from more than 400 listeners within a single month, with the volume of calls continuing to grow. The growing engagement signals strong audience interest and demonstrates the potential for voice AI to enhance live broadcast experiences while maintaining a human-centered touch.
