Immigration Ban Highlights Misunderstanding Over Online Identity and VR Work

An online model known by the handle Hex was permanently barred by a U.S. immigration agency after an apparent misunderstanding that aligned with her online persona. The information originates from an Edition of Vice report.

Hex describes the situation as a miscommunication with U.S. authorities. She maintains that her activities do not involve direct sex work; instead, she curates erotic performances within the virtual reality platform VRChat. The public-facing content features a three-dimensional avatar that resembles the model only in part. In addition, Hex shares candid images and screenshots of her avatar on the Fansly subscription service.

Hex says she became aware of the visa-related ban in early 2023 while attempting to obtain a U.S. tourist visa to visit friends. She claims that, despite offering detailed explanations of her actual work and online presence, she did not receive assistance from the United States Department of Homeland Security or its related agencies.

Despite the setback, Hex asserts her determination to pursue another attempt to secure entry permission to the United States in the future.

Previously reported by socialbites.ca, concerns about erotic deepfakes involving well-known publishers reportedly led to an emotional response from the blogger involved.
