iGreen has introduced iPhone cases that do more than shield devices from everyday dings. These cases also contribute to environmental sustainability thanks to embedded plant seeds that can sprout when planted in soil. The news comes from Design Explosion, which highlights this innovative approach to combining protection with green growth.
The manufacturer explains that iGreen Cover emerges from two years of focused research and development on the material and design. A standout feature is that the packaging includes seeds that begin to germinate after the accessory is planted in a pot. The cover is designed to be sewn at a 30-degree angle, a detail that supports both form and function in its production process.
Color serves as a guide to the plant type: green indicates basil, yellow signals a daisy, and blue points to a forget-me-not. This color-coding helps users identify the plant they will grow and adds a playful confirmation of the product’s environmental mission.
The accessory is made from a biodegradable material derived from corn starch. It is engineered to protect the iPhone while remaining environmentally friendly. When the seed-embedded cap completes its life cycle, decomposition takes approximately six months under typical conditions.
iGreen Cover currently supports three Apple models: iPhone 13 Pro, 14 Pro, and 15 Pro. The price for a single case is 18 euros (roughly 1,700 rubles). Purchases are available through the official iGreen website, with consumers able to place orders directly from the brand’s storefront.
Earlier reports referenced an Apple patent related to anti-spying screens, indicating ongoing conversations around device privacy in the broader ecosystem. This context frames iGreen’s case as part of a broader push toward sustainable, forward-thinking accessories that align with contemporary tech use and environmental goals.
