True Gamers, a company founded by Russian entrepreneurs, is building an international network of esports clubs and plans to acquire an island near Abu Dhabi to establish Esports Island, envisioned as the world’s first resort devoted to competitive gaming. This development was reported by TASS citing the company.
The proposed project carries an investment forecast surpassing 280 million dollars and includes collaborations with prominent esports teams such as Team Spirit, Virtus.pro, and Team BetBoom. Plans call for training facilities, a hotel, and a fitness center on the island, along with a business hub named Digital Tower and a large arena that will host major events. True Gamers expects the venture to become financially self-sustaining within a decade.
While the company has drawn interest from a broad range of potential partners, specific names have not been disclosed yet. The investment is aimed at a full resort development, spanning land acquisition, infrastructure build-out, and the introduction of distinctive amenities, including hotel access via parachute jump routes inspired by the PUBG game experience.
Company representatives emphasize that the project ranks among the largest entertainment initiatives led by Russian firms and aligns with forecasts for expansion in the gaming sector across the United Arab Emirates.
Historically, Russia has ranked among the top ten profitable gaming markets on a global scale.
