Cyber Sports Map for Counter-Strike 2 Unveiled by Moscow Transport and BKL
The Moscow Ministry of Transport and the Major Cyber Sports League (BKL) have jointly developed a dedicated “Cyber Sports” map for the online shooter Counter-Strike 2. Information about this collaboration was showcased on BKL’s official YouTube channel, where the project was first revealed to the public.
BKL released a detailed review of the project on YouTube. In the accompanying footage, viewers get a tour that passes through the entrance and surrounding pavilion of a transit station, illustrating how the map integrates recognizable elements of real Moscow metro stations. The design includes features such as directional signage, escalators, turnstiles, and other station-specific details, all recreated to reflect the city’s transportation environment.
The YouTube trailer description for the “Esports” map notes that the map represents a collective visualization of Moscow’s transport infrastructure. It highlights numerous elements familiar to Muscovites, including branded Moscow Metro signs and depictions of electric buses and electric trains bearing the city’s branding.
According to BKL, the map release is timed to coincide with the launch of the first Russian Counter-Strike 2 tournament. The event is scheduled for November 11 and 12, featuring six teams competing for a prize fund of 1 million rubles. The timing aims to generate momentum for both the game and the emerging cyber sports scene within Russia.
