Apple is developing the A19 Bionic and M5 chips for mobiles and PCs, with a potential release date after 2025 according to the WCCFtech outlet and insider reference @_orangera1n.
An unidentified insider shared an image on X featuring identifiers for several processors. According to @_orangera1n, these tags point to future Apple A19 Bionic and Apple M5 chips.
WCCFtech notes that Apple began investing in new chip designs years ago to keep a competitive edge in the tech race.
Speculation around the iPhone 15 Pro has circulated, with reports suggesting the A16 Bionic will power its performance. That would place the A19 for upcoming smartphones several years out, leaving a gap before a new generation arrives. At the same time, chatter mentions M3 based computers possibly arriving in 2024, which would imply that the earliest devices featuring the new processors would appear in 2025 or later.
The A19 Bionic and M5 are expected to be manufactured on TSMC 2nm technology. At this time no additional technical specifics have been disclosed about these chips.
Earlier online postings also showed charging cables associated with the new iPhone 15.
