This outlook came from the company’s CEO Tim Cook in a quarterly earnings report. An audio recording of Cook’s remarks at the event was published on Apple’s official site.
“The company will keep investing in technologies that shape the future”, Cook stated. “This includes artificial intelligence, an area where substantial time and effort are being devoted, and we are eager to share progress on our ongoing work in this field later this year.”
Cook avoided giving specific details about AI, noting Apple’s pattern of providing information after key milestones are reached.
There is speculation that Apple could unveil its own AI model or related features alongside the launch of a new iOS 18 update, which is commonly anticipated to be announced in September 2024.
