A Russian-Cypriot studio Mundfish has unveiled the first trailer for the inaugural story expansion to Atomic Heart, along with an official release date for the new chapter.
The add-on is titled Annihilation Instinct. It continues the saga of the Atomic Heart main narrative, focusing on fresh escapades for the central character, Major P-3. Viewers will also uncover more about the Mendeleev research complex and the Eleanor repair cabin, which previously interacted with the heroine in intriguing ways.
From the Annihilation Instinct trailer, players can anticipate gameplay tweaks, including a glove-driven time control mechanic, new weapon types such as the Secateurs and Klusha, and the return of Technostasis as a core tool in combat and exploration.
Coinciding with the trailer, Mundfish released a substantial update for Atomic Heart that introduces a New Game+ mode, offering players a fresh way to experience the shooter with ongoing challenges and enhancements.
Annihilation Instinct was scheduled for theaters on August 2, 2023, marking a significant milestone for the game’s expanding universe.
Earlier, the Ukrainian studio GSC Game World commented on the wave of video content related to the STALKER series, stating it would not block videos from Russian and Belarusian media outlets on their platforms.
