Sony engineers have revealed new details about PS VR 2 as part of the CEDEC 2022 conference. It is noted that the helmet will use the same SDK (software development kit) as the PS5 console. It allows you to easily add virtual reality support to existing games on Unreal Engine and Unity.

The helmet also supports Flexible Scale Rasterization technology, which will optimize game performance and reduce the load on the console hardware. The gist is that the maximum quality display of the image only goes where the user is looking. That is, the system fully calculates only the part of the scene that is in front of the player’s eyes.
And with the Comfort Sample tool, probable problems can be identified in the testing phase when transferring the game to PS VR 2. So game development for the new helmet should become easier.
As expected, the release of the helmet will take place in early 2023, its estimated price is 400 euros (a little more than 24 thousand rubles).
