Experts interviewed 6,000 Russian motorists to find out with which characteristics Russians perceive a car as new.
Nothing but 6% Russians are ready to call new cars without mileage, sold in a car dealership. Most participants in a survey by the online car check service Avtoteka consider the term ‘new car’ much broader.
36% consider a new car with mileage up to 60 thousand km, and 35% New cars are referred to by the respondents as cars under five years old. In which 23% Russians are willing to consider buying a car with a mileage of 60,000 to 80,000 km.
What influences the perception of a used car?
The main parameter that determines the novelty of a car is: 63% Russians consider it miles. The second most important criterion is the absence of an accident and major repairs, it was pointed out fifty% respondents. The vast majority of respondents (96%) are ready to call a new used car with a lifespan up to 1 year. Three-year-old cars are classified as new 77% respondents. About a third of the respondents indicate that they classify cars up to 5 years old in this way.
Appearance is also important
According to the research, for 84% For Russians, preserving the original appearance of the body is important. 47% respondents attach great importance to the impeccable cleanliness of the salon. The third place in importance is shared by such attributes as the absence of tuning and the presence of original tires and wheels, they were distinguished by 24% respondents.
