The hacking of the network infrastructure of the Tver administration was carried out by RUH8, one of the oldest hacker groups in Ukraine. This was announced by T.Hunter Igor Bederov, head of the Information and Analytical Research Department.
According to Bederov, the RUH8 hacker group was founded in the spring of 2014 and has become one of the most active and oldest groups to date. The group’s first posts were about blocking the accounts of DPR and LPR activists on social networks. In November 2015, the RUH8 group opened a website in which it declared that its main goal was “to harm the Russian Federation.”

Examining the screenshots published on RUH8 social networks, Bederov suggested that the hacking of the Tver administration could be carried out by gaining access to the Kaspersky Security Center protection complex. The expert believes that the operator of this service under the Tver administration does not use two-factor authorization.
