TCL smartphones with unusual paper-effect displays shown in Germany

At the IFA 2024 trade show in Berlin, TCL introduced the TCL 50 Nxtpaper 5G and TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G smartphones with anti-glare “paper” displays. The portal reports that Ledger Control.

Both smartphones are equipped with 6.8-inch Nxtpaper displays with a resolution of 2650×1080 pixels, a frequency of 120 Hz, a brightness of 550 nits, and a special anti-glare coating that gives the feel of paper.

The performance of the devices is provided by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip, complemented by 8 GB of RAM. The TCL 50 Nxtpaper 5G gets 128, 256 and 512 GB drives, while the Pro version only offers a 512 GB option. Moreover, both devices support microSD cards up to 2 TB.

The main camera of the TCL 50 Pro Nxtpaper 5G with a resolution of 108 megapixels is complemented by an 8 megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 2 megapixel macro module. The front camera received a 32 megapixel sensor. The TCL 50 Nxtpaper 5G uses an 8 MP front camera.

The smartphones are equipped with a 5010 mAh battery with 33 W fast charging support. Among other features, there is also support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC and Android 14. In addition, there is a NXTPAPER Key switch on the body of the device, which activates the monochrome display mode reminiscent of e-book screens.

TCL 50 Nxtpaper 5G will be sold at a price of € 219 (about 21.7 thousand rubles), and the Pro version will be available at a price of € 299 (about 29.6 thousand rubles).
