Apple has updated its official list of old and vintage devices to include some older iPhone and iPad models. In this respect reports MacRumor’s publication.

Notably, Apple has admitted that the iPhone 6 Plus is outdated. This means that Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will no longer offer repairs or other service for your device. Apple considers the product obsolete seven years after it was discontinued.

Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in September 2014. The key features of the devices are larger screens than previous models, as well as support for Apple Pay. Apple discontinued the iPhone 6 Plus in September 2016, but the iPhone 6 continued to be sold through retailers in some countries for several more years, so it is not yet considered “obsolete.” Software support for smartphones ended with the release of iOS 13 in 2019.

Additionally, Apple has expanded its list of vintage devices with the fourth-generation iPad mini. This means that it has been more than five years since the company stopped selling this model. Apple Stores and Apple Authorized Service Providers will continue to offer repair services on products that are two years older, depending on parts availability.

Previously Google clarified Average lifespan of branded smartphones.
