To protect their accounts in the Civil Service, Russians are advised to follow three simple rules. First, it states that it is unacceptable to contact phone scammers who request account authorization data under various pretexts.
“If they call you, identify themselves as a Civil Service employee and ask for a code, hang up – they are scammers,” says a post on the Telegram channel.
He also notes that State Services employees never called Russians and did not ask for a username, password or authorization confirmation code from SMS or Push notifications.
The second rule is that you should only use the official website and application of the Civil Service. If a user is asked to update any information on the portal, he/she should not follow the provided links as they may be hidden behind phishing sites. The only official website of the portal is gosuslugi.ru, and the application can only be downloaded from RuStore, Google Play, App Store and App Gallery.
The third rule relates to triple account protection. Triple protection refers to authentication methods that use a code from SMS, Push notifications, and biometrics.
