The company earned the top spot thanks to strong reviews for its games, including successful remakes, remasters, and new releases like last year’s Resident Evil 4, Street Fighter 6, and Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective.
Based on a comprehensive rating system, the ranking took into account the average rating, the percentage of games with positive and negative reviews, and the number of highly rated games. As a result, Capcom was ahead of its competitors such as Raw Fury (2) and Chorus Worldwide (3), while last year’s leader Sony fell to 13th place, while its direct rival Microsoft ranked 15th.
Also in the top ten were Dangen Entertainment (4), Annapurna Interactive (5), Nintendo (6), Aksys Games (7), Bethesda Softworks (8), Sega (9) and Thunderful (10).
According to the 2023 results, the ranking is 14th in a row. The current list includes 46 publishers, the worst of which is Perpetual (Perp Games).
