The fact that the fourth generation iPhone SE, which has not yet been released, may face problems maintaining its value in the secondary market, raises doubts about the brand’s ability to compete with its flagship models. In this respect reports MacRumors portal with a link to an analytical study by SellCell.

It is stated that all iPhone SE models traditionally lose value faster than Apple’s flagship smartphones. For example, the third-generation iPhone SE, released in March 2022, lost 42.6% of its original value just a month after its release.

At the same time, the cost of the iPhone 13 decreased by only 18.7% in the same period, and its price stabilized after three months. The iPhone 14 and 15 series show even greater resistance to wear. This phenomenon highlights the differences in value retention between budget and flagship models.

Despite rumors that the design of the fourth-generation iPhone SE is similar to the iPhone 14, including a 6.1-inch OLED display and a Face ID scanner instead of Touch ID, the new budget model may continue the trend and its value may drop rapidly. This could influence users’ decision to purchase the next iPhone SE, especially if they plan to sell the device at a profit on the secondary market in the future.

The fourth generation iPhone SE is expected to be introduced in 2025. The smartphone is credited with the biggest update in the series: the abandonment of the Home button and the fingerprint scanner, as well as the switch from Lightning to USB-C and the introduction of an action button like on the iPhone 15 Pro.

Previously recognizedOn iPhone, they will be allowed to install applications in file format, just like on Android.
