The world’s first surgical operation using the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset took place in England. In this respect reports AppleInsider (AI) publication.

Spinal fusion operation (a type of surgical intervention aimed at immobilizing the vertebrae adjacent to the spine by fusing them together. – Ed.) was performed at Cromwell Hospital in London. The Apple device was used by surgical assistant Suvi Vero: with its help, she monitored the patient’s vital signs without taking her eyes off the operating table.

Vero told reporters that he had previously used Microsoft’s HoloLens 2 augmented reality headset in the operating room. According to him, HoloLens 2 can make surgery more fun and convenient, but Apple Vision Pro offers much more opportunities. Vero said Apple’s headset is a game changer in the use of augmented reality devices in surgery.

Surgeon Syed Aftab, who performed the operation, was also pleased with the medical staff’s use of Apple Vision Pro.

Previously Insider declassified development of the extremely powerful Apple MacBook Pro.
