The Russian Organization for the Development of the Video Game Industry (RVI) has developed a road map, one of the points of which is the creation of a domestic game console. Plan published On the official website of RVI.
The roadmap was prepared in response to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s instruction in December to develop measures to support the Russian gaming industry. The RVI plan is based on several recommendations from Russian officials, including the Ministry of Economic Development, the Agency for Strategic Initiatives, the Moscow government and others.
The RVI project consists of 4 blocks: “System support elements”, “Export”, “Education” and “Technology”. It is designed for the next five years: 2024 to 2029. During this time, RVI proposes to create several game engines in Russia, a game console, organize game exhibitions and more. The road map includes 83 points in total.
The road map for the development of the video game industry will be presented to the Government of the Russian Federation through the working group on the development of the video game industry, which was created at the end of last year.
