The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia has refreshed the official list of vehicles deemed suitable for priority use by civil servants. The updated roster is published on the ministry’s website, outlining which cars are recommended for government procurement and fleet deployment.

Among the vehicles highlighted in the latest edition are Citroën C5 Aircross crossovers, produced by the Automotive Technologies company based in the Kaluga region. The inclusion signals a preference for newer crossovers with a balance of comfort, efficiency, and suitability for daily official duties.

The list also features several BAIC models, including the U5 Plus, X35, X55, BJ40 Plus, and X7. These cars are assembled at Avtotor’s Kaliningrad facilities, reflecting a strategic emphasis on domestically assembled, import-competitive options that can support state logistics and field operations while aligning with national industrial priorities.

Additional models from Kaiyi, such as the E5, X3 Pro, X3, and X7, along with SWM G05 Pro, G01, and Amberauto A5, are listed as recommended options. Produced at the same factory, these entries broaden the range of choices available to government buyers, aiming to provide a mix of budget-friendly and mid-range vehicles that meet official standards for reliability and serviceability.

Rounding out the roster are the Evolute i-Jet and the Haval M6, both included as potential fleet purchases for state purposes. The presence of these models signals ongoing diversification in the government fleet, offering alternatives that can suit a variety of duty profiles—from urban bureaucratic travel to regional fieldwork—while maintaining procurement compliance and lifecycle cost considerations.

The previous edition of the ministry’s list was published in October 2023, providing a reference point for how the government’s vehicle preferences have evolved over time. Updates like these typically respond to shifts in domestic production capacity, vehicle safety and efficiency standards, and the government’s broader policy goals regarding localization and cost management.

Historically, the car market in Russia has seen changing dynamics around the sale and warranty of models such as the Citroën C5 Aircross. It has been noted that Citroën C5 Aircross was sold with a factory warranty in the market, a detail that can influence decisions about fleet reliability, aftersales support, and maintenance planning when these vehicles are chosen for official use. The ministry’s updated list thus serves not only as a procurement guide but also as a signal to fleet managers and suppliers about expected support structures and service networks for the commonly deployed models.
