Apple sold between 160 and 180 thousand units of the Vision Pro mixed reality headset in the first weekend since pre-orders opened on January 19, 2024. In this respect reports MacRumor’s publication cites the words of Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst and analyst from TF International Securities.
Kuo used the phrase “sold out” (from English “sold”) in his report, meaning Apple has sold out the entire current Vision Pro series during the pre-order phase. According to him, high demand forced Apple to extend the delivery time to five to seven weeks. Thus, the first buyers will receive the new product no later than mid-March 2024.
Kuo believes that Apple will not extend the previously stated delivery time. According to him, demand for Vision Pro may drop sharply in the near future due to the fact that the device is an expensive and niche product, which will directly affect the number of enthusiasts who want to purchase it.
According to analyst estimates, Apple is expected to sell up to 500 thousand headphones in total by the end of the year. He believes that an important task for Apple now is to keep up with demand. Kuo suggested that this “shouldn’t be a big problem.”
