Apps pre-installed on Apple Vision Pro will be divided into two categories: optimized and non-optimized. In this respect reports MacRumor’s publication.

A total of 25 apps will be pre-installed on the Apple Vision Pro out of the box. The list of optimized ones will include App Store, Encounter Dinosaurs, Files, Freeform, Keynote, Mail, Messages, Awareness, Music, Notes, Photos, Safari, Settings, Tips, and TV. The non-optimized category includes Books, Calendar, Home, Maps, News, Podcasts, Reminders, Shortcuts, Stocks, Voice Memos.

Optimized applications differ from non-optimized applications in that they have unique features for spatial interaction with the interface. Unoptimized services are copies of iOS versions.

MacRumors noted that the above list is not very large. Journalists particularly pointed out the lack of services such as iWork, Pages, Clock, Contacts, Weather and Health. MacRumors has also learned that an optimized version of the FaceTime app will appear shortly after the launch of Apple Vision Pro, as well as a Capture service for taking photos and recording video on the headset cameras.

Pre-orders for Apple Vision Pro opened on January 19, 2024, and the new product will be available at retail on February 2.
