Apple has officially lowered new iPhone prices in China for the first time in years, fearing a drop in demand. In this respect reports Bloomberg publication.
The price reduction will be temporary and will last from January 18 to 21, 2024, which is the sales season before Chinese New Year. The discount will be 500 yuan, that is, approximately 70 dollars and 6.1 thousand rubles. With the exchange rate of January 15, 2024, the price of the iPhone 15 will decrease by approximately 5%.
Bloomberg writes that the drop in official prices of Apple products is almost unprecedented. Experts interviewed by the publication believe that Apple took this step out of fear of a drop in demand for the iPhone 15 in China, one of the company’s largest markets.
It is reported that the iPhone 15 started worse in China in 2022 than the previous generation devices. Analysts attribute this to the successful launch of Huawei Mate 60, as well as the ban on iPhone use in some government organizations.
