About 300 people in the country currently use Russian R-FON smartphones. Oleg Karpitsky, General Director of the Rosa IT Center, which developed the Rosa Mobile operating system for R-FON smartphones, told socialbites.ca.
“Today, several hundred people, that is, close to 300 people, use R-FON smartphones. These are all employees of our company and our contractors. Essentially, this is our large group of beta testers,” Karpitsky said.
According to him, Rosa Mobile is ready for final use. With the launch of the company, all that remained was to set up supply channels and operate the support service and receive feedback from users.
“We are already in talks with many large customers. They will begin to receive the first small batches of R-FON for pilot projects in early 2024. Based on their results, customers will make decisions on the volume of full-scale purchases,” added Karpitsky.
He believes that by the end of next year, R-FON’s user base will reach 300-400 thousand users. All of them will represent the corporate sector and the public sector.
R-FON is a Russian smartphone based on the Rosa Mobile operating system, released on December 18, 2023. The device is equipped with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with FullHD + resolution, MediaTek Helio G99 processor and 8 GB RAM.
