YouTube has reduced the number of ad inserts in videos played on TV. In this respect reports The Verge’s edition.

The publication reports that the reduction in ad units is a result of testing a new promotion integration model that took place in September 2023. YouTube compensated for the decrease in the number of additions with their duration.

The new policy has taken effect, at least in the United States.

Along with the new ad frequency, YouTube has also expanded the ability to show Shorts trailers on TVs. Attachments now appear between short clips. Once the custom timer has expired, you can skip them using the TV’s remote control.

The Verge reminded that YouTube has made many innovations in terms of advertising in 2023. For example, some versions of the app have 30-second blocks that cannot be skipped. In the web version, the company has banned the use of ad blocking services.
