Apple plans to expand the differences between the iPad Air and iPad Pro tablets to eliminate confusion among buyers. This was reported by Bloomberg.

As part of its differentiation strategy, the company plans to equip the iPad Pro with 11-inch and 13-inch OLED displays, a new M3 chip and an updated Magic Keyboard with an aluminum body. At the same time, iPad Air will replace last year’s Apple M2 in two versions: 10.9 and 12.9 inches. However, Air will not receive support for the new keyboard.

Gurman states that these changes will make the iPad Air more affordable than the Pro version, while also offering significant improvements over the standard iPad. In addition, Apple is considering discontinuing production of the basic ninth-generation iPad, which will also remove the first-generation Apple Pencil from the market.

Apple will also continue selling the existing iPad 10 and iPad mini. The former allows the company to compete with affordable Chromebook laptops in the education market, while the iPad mini remains popular with users who prefer smaller devices.
