Apple has added the original iPhone SE and several other devices to its list of old and obsolete devices. The portal reports this Apple’s Content.
Vintage device status is assigned to gadgets whose production was discontinued more than five years ago. The first iPhone SE was officially available for purchase until September 2018. This smartphone was introduced in the spring of 2016. The device was once popular because it offered the hardware of the iPhone 6s in the body of the iPhone 5 and was cheaper than older models.
Besides the iPhone SE, Apple has also classified the following products as vintage: the second-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro and the special edition Beats Solo3 Wireless headphones introduced in honor of Mickey Mouse’s 90th anniversary.
Additionally, the Powerbeats 2 and Solo2 Wireless headphones were officially discontinued for no more than seven years. Outdated device status means that it is impossible to repair such devices at authorized Apple service centers due to a lack of spare parts.
