Some Google Drive cloud storage users have lost files saved in the last six months. This was reported by Neowin With a link on the Google support forum.
According to Google cloud users, the deleted files were created or modified after May 2023. The folder structure in the storage has also been “rolled back”. In some cases, all files saved after August are deleted.
Google has confirmed the issue and is investigating. The company recommends that affected users not make any changes to their Google Drive until a solution is found. According to only one page At least 140 people in Google support have encountered a similar illness.
The causes and extent of the problem are not yet known. One of the users who contacted Google support said that he did not give anyone else access to his files or account. He tried several steps to recover the files but failed. It is unknown whether the company will be able to return the lost documents.
