Russian studio Perelesoq encountered difficulties after the release of the game Torn Away. According to the portal, II. The project, dedicated to the theme of World War II, failed to attract a sufficient number of buyers despite high scores from critics and gamers. DTF.

Torn Away was released on Steam and VK Play on September 29, 2023. The game sold only 2,496 copies on both platforms within two months of release. This is much less than the developers expected, who were hoping that at least 10-20% of the 18 thousand people who wishlisted the game would buy it. As a result, the conversion was approximately 3.6%.

According to Artem Koblov, founder and creative director of Perelesoq studio, such results caused a deplorable situation for a small team that invested a lot of effort and money in the project. The studio’s main investor refused to continue financing, so development of the next game was put on hold. Now the studio is in “limbo” and is solely busy supporting Torn Away.

Koblov cannot pinpoint the reasons for the failure of the play. He suggests that this may be affected by player fatigue with military themes, problems with payment systems on Steam for the Russian Federation, Belarus and Ukraine, and a low marketing budget. The developer hopes the game can still find its audience and pay off.

Torn Away is an adventure game in which the player controls a girl named Sonya trying to survive in Nazi-occupied Poland. The game received a score of 85 on Metacritic and “very positive” reviews on Steam.
