Japanese gaming company Nintendo has patented a two-screen game console. In this respect reports Video Games Chronicle (VGC) publication.
The device simultaneously resembles the company’s current and previous generation consoles, namely the Switch and 3DS respectively. Unlike the 3DS, the new device was designed in a slider format, not a clamshell. In other words, users will be able to access a single screen under all conditions of the new product.
You can also see in the drawings that the device should have only one rod. This feature, on the contrary, makes a potential future Nintendo console similar to the 3DS.
VGC writes that the discovered Nintendo patents do not guarantee that the described technologies will be used by the company in future devices.
It is said that Nintendo’s next console will be introduced in the second half of 2024. Game developers have already started receiving working prototypes of the device from the Japanese company for their work.
Previously Microsoft decided Prohibit Xbox from playing on non-original gamepads.
