MacBooks with OLED displays won’t hit the market for at least three years. In this respect reports The MacRumors publication cites Ross Young, CEO and insider of analytics firm Display Supply Chain Consultants.
According to Yang, the use of OLED panels in laptops is limited by the capabilities of Apple suppliers. Insiders claim that it will take several more years to establish production lines for mass production of the required matrices.
Young expects the MacBook Pro series to be the first series to feature OLED displays. However, according to their estimates, this will not happen until 2026 or even 2027.
At the same time, the iPad will transition to a new screen type in the near future. Young believes the first such iPad Pro will be released in 2024. The remaining models (base iPad, Air and Mini) will complete the transition by 2027.
MacRumors writes that Young has been a reliable source of information about the displays of future Apple products for several years, and a very high percentage of his predictions have come true.
