Administrative authorities and residents of the Lipetsk region will be able to more effectively counter cyber threats and cyber fraud. An agreement on cooperation in the field of information security was signed between Sberbank and the regional government. This was reported by the press service of the financial institution.

The document was signed by Sberbank Deputy Chairman Stanislav Kuznetsov and Lipetsk Region Governor Igor Artamonov.

The parties agreed to jointly increase the level of cyber literacy of the population. Other areas of cooperation include the implementation of investment projects based on public-private partnership mechanisms and the development of regional tourism infrastructure using Sber digital solutions.

According to Stanislav Kuznetsov, the agreement will strengthen the company’s partnership with the Lipetsk region and increase the effectiveness of the fight against cyber threats.

“Government authorities, residents, social and industrial infrastructure must be reliably protected. Risks in this area continue to increase, so only coordinated joint work using the best personnel and technologies will yield results,” said Kuznetsov.

The deputy chairman of the board of Sberbank also added that it is extremely important not to forget about the cyber literacy of the population: work on improving it should come to the fore.

“All these measures together will help us improve the quality of life in the region by ensuring information security,” Kuznetsov said.

In turn, the governor of the Lipetsk region, Igor Artamonov, noted that the region is confidently among the leaders in digital maturity.

“We are introducing electronic services in almost every field to improve the quality of life of the population. For example, our region was one of the first to transfer the delivery of socially important services to electronic form. Of course, this requires high cyber security. “The developments and tools available to our partner will allow us to protect citizens from fraudsters, prevent the damage that cyber attacks can cause to business and the population, and generally increase the quality level of the digital services we offer to the region,” he said.
