President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed the decree “On state registration and operation of civil unmanned aerial vehicles”. Individuals are prohibited from importing, using, buying, selling, manufacturing or possessing drones into the country. Document published on the official website of the head of state.

According to the decree, the circulation, production and operation of drones in Belarus is allowed only to organizations and individual entrepreneurs for the purpose of their commercial and professional activities. However, for this, businesses will need permission from the Belarusian government.

Provisions of the decree banning the import, production and use of unmanned aerial vehicles have come into force, and the storage and sale of the devices will become illegal within six months. During this period, drone owners must sell the drones to companies or entrust them to an authorized organization determined by the state. The document does not disclose which organization is referred to.

The decree also provides for the creation of a state accounting system for unmanned aerial vehicles, which will be audited by the aviation department of the republican Ministry of Transport and Communications.
