Police arrest author of major Starfield game leak

Shelby County police have arrested blogger Darin Tyrone Harris, who previously shared her impressions and posted a video featuring the crossover of the unreleased Starfield game under the pseudonyms DHavenShadow and Rebs Gaming. In this respect informs Edition of Kotaku.

On August 24, a 29-year-old man was detained. He is charged with theft of property valued at between $2,500 and $10,000, the theft of property valued at $1,000 or less, and possession of marijuana.

Harris is best known for posting a 40-minute annotated video of Starfield on YouTube on August 20. In this video and other subsequent videos, the blogger showed that he has several copies of the collector’s edition, as well as numerous discs with the game. All this is presumed stolen from a retailer’s warehouse.

Harris sold the discs shown before Starfield’s official release on the Mercari market. He was shipping purchases using FedEx shipping company, which was also shown in the blogger’s content.

PC Gamer writes that Harris is currently free on $10,000 bail and the hearing date is set for August 28.

Starfield is scheduled to hit theaters on September 1, 2023. The game will only be released on PC and Xbox consoles.
