Eldar Murtazin, one of the leading analysts of the Mobile Research Group, warned that improper use of the smartphone can cause the battery to burn. According to him, such cases are registered up to ten times a month in Russia, and similar statistics are observed in other countries. writes about it radio Sputnik.
The expert noted that one of the two most common causes of a smartphone fire is damage to the battery shell due to frequent drops of the device. The second reason is the burden of using a low-end charger or an external charger (power bank) without a controller that can transfer more power than the smartphone can accept.
Murtazin also pointed out that if the smartphone is exposed to direct sunlight, the battery may overheat and malfunction. He warned that if the battery swells and protrudes from the case, it is unsafe to use such a device as it can catch fire and cause serious burns to a person.
However, according to the expert, in most cases, when a fire occurs, smartphones simply start smoking. Full ignition is extremely rare and requires certain conditions, such as wet weather or immersion of the device in water, especially if the battery shell is damaged.
Murtazin recommends that the battery be replaced regularly. Indicates that the battery is a consumable and is recommended to be replaced every two to three years. If the user notices that the smartphone’s charge is getting worse or is working less efficiently, the specialist recommends replacing the battery.
