An Apple Watch user has been warned about the presence of a weak heart muscle, which helps detect a rare heart disease early. Portal reports MyHealthyApple.
The user’s health issue was detected using the Cardio Fitness feature on the Apple Watch. The gadget determines the VO2 indicator, which is the maximum amount of oxygen the body can consume during exercise.
Apple Watch notifies the user with a notification if the cardio level is low for their age and gender. The 40-year-old owner of the Apple Watch Series 6 started getting these warnings constantly.
Specialists at Sheckler Medical College in Tel Aviv examined the man. Doctors diagnosed the patient with “inflammatory non-ischemic cardiomyopathy with a pronounced decrease in the systolic function of the left ventricle.”
According to MyHealthyApple, it usually takes several years for symptoms to appear. The disease occurs when the heart muscle thins and weakens in at least one chamber of the heart. This potentially leads to enlargement of the room’s open area and eventually to heart failure.
