Seagate begins selling record hard drives over 30TB

US technology company Seagate has begun shipping its latest hard drive models with record capacities exceeding 30TB to some of its enterprise customers. In this respect informs Tom’s Hardware version.

Seagate has succeeded in gaining a large capacity with the application of thermal magnetic data recording technology. The new drivers ship as part of Corvault’s enterprise data center packages.

It has now been noted that the so-called qualification samples are sent to customers. If major problems do not arise during their operation in the near future, the upgraded Corvault complexes will be considered implemented and the proceeds from their sale will be included in Seagate’s quarterly report.

It has not been announced when discs with thermal magnetic recording technology will reach the consumer market. However, it is known that Seagate plans to increase its production in 2024 with the introduction of the second generation of its new data recording technology.
