The Last of Us: Part 2 went to PC. Sony has currently released his last major exclusive exclusive without much noise and loud headlines. Fans of the consoles have long come to terms with the policy of the Japanese company and have no longer lowered the discs with scissors. PC gamers stopped screaming “Thanks for the beta test” and now quietly learn one of the best games of 2020. From now on everyone can study the history of the confrontation between Ellie and Abby before watching the second season of the television series with the same name. But closer to the point: after the failed gate of the first part, we decided to check the sequel to strength and compare the PC version with the Remister for PS5.

Remaster or remaster
Five years have passed, but we still remember the loud release of The Last of Us: Part 2 on PS4. Firstly, important plot twists leaked to the network, which made dedicated fans of the series. Then there were enthusiastic reviews of the press. When the game was released, the internet literally exploded: tons of angry messages to the developers, hundreds of crushing videos and Flash Mob with the exhibiting units at Metacritic. It was fun. Even last year’s release Sony Concord was unable to exceed the start of the Tlou2 sales in the amount of Heit.

Despite the criticism of the plot and low reviews of the players, The Last of Us: Part 2 remains one of the best adventure games in history. If the first part made a splash with adult cinematic topics, the sequel not only achieved success, but it also exceeded the original in terms of gameplay, visual performance and emotional depth.

Last year, Remaster The Last of Us appeared: part 2 for PS5, which is essentially not even a remaster, but another way to earn a loyal audience. There were a minimum of real graphic improvements. Lupa and I peered to the TV screen and tried to find at least a few changes. As a result, they came to the conclusion that the innovations in the schedule are comparable to the Schrödinger -Kat – they are at the same time and at the same time they are not.

Together with a reprint in the kit, however, there is a new non-roturn mode in the kit. This is of course not a multiplayer that fans begging from Naughty Dog over the past five years, but is perfect for the excitement of time for those who did not have enough fighting in the main campaign.

And so, until the premiere of the second season of the HBO series, a PC version with all the extra content of Remastered was released. This time De Poort was responsible for the Nixxes Software Studio, known for the high -quality transfers from Console -Exclusive. Otherwise The first part that Iron Galaxy portrayed (PC versions authors Batman: Arkham City and Uncharted 4), the sequel turned out to be more or less playable. Yes, this is not as terrible as with part 1 before the release of patches, but not perfect, to immediately call the PC version the best way to get acquainted with the second part. But about everything in order.

Compilation of shaders part 2
In contrast to the PC version of the first part, the sequel does not start with many hours of compilation of Shaders. That’s it, but you no longer have to look at the loading screen for an hour. Nixxes software took into account criticism and integrated compilation directly in the gameplay and the Shaders library break into parts. Each is loaded during kitszen. If you decide to skip the video, you will see the compilation screen – and these loads are very long.

Moreover, the process can start directly during the gameplay, because large locations are divided into parts and the game is not always able to process data. This creates a load on the video card, which leads to string and overheating. The game can freeze for a second in the middle of the action, although the FPS counter will not show jumps.

A particularly unpleasant situation without return. There is no kitszen, so every game starts with compilation, which lasts a long time. Until you visit all locations and do not open their options, you must constantly wait. SSD speed and PC power have no influence on this.

As a result, the “hidden” compilation eliminates the long load on the menu, but overloads the system during the game and causes FPS bodem decrease in rich scenes. You still have to endure. And the owners of the weak PC have to stand still before the start of each level, waiting for the completion of the compilation.
The best version
The Last of US: Part 2 PC version reveals the full graphic potential that has been recorded by the Naughty Dog. The game in five years is not outdated and looks better than many modern blockbuster. Without console restrictions, the engine gives a detailed and rich picture. Every element of the environment now throws away the shadow, which improves the effect of credibility.

The lack of limitations on the consoles was allowed to add the missing landfills, so that the corners are lost. The textures became clearer, the drawing range increased considerably – the taping and haze, characteristic of the consolorial version, disappeared.

In contrast to the port of the first part, we did not have to “shaman” with the settings for stable FPS. The game works great on the RTX of the 30th series and gives more than 60 frames, even in the most intense scenes. In places, however, the last of us looks: part 2 looks worse than the first part – especially in the details of the environment and visual effects that create volume. The character model is great in the Katsen, but in the gameplay the “poverty” of the training site is noticeable.

The Last of Us: Part 2 offers a wide range of scale options: own TAA, support for DLSS, FSR and Xess. Unfortunately, on screens with a resolution under 2K, Technology Imperfect works. The photo in Full HD looks dirty because of neural networks of networks appear along the contours of models, especially noticeable on the hair. Even the high-quality flattening of DLAA does not save from artifacts, which will aggravate the impression of the owners of FHD monitors.

With the game you can combine scales with generating frames to increase performance. Nvidia card owners can, for example, make DLSS possible with FSR -Frame generation for a smooth image. There is also an adjustment of the sharpness. Unfortunately, the newest DLSS transformatormodel is not supported, but it can be activated via the NVIDIA application.

As already noted, most visual effects in the last of us are implemented manually, which explains the impressive performance. Tracing Rays is not available, and this will disappoint the owners of video cards of the 50th series. Even without repetitions, however, the game looks great: lighting and shadows work flawlessly and reflections are not inferior to trace games.

The Last of US: Part 2 supports Ultra -Fisted screens, HDR and offers detailed graphic settings for each configuration.

In general, the PC version is the best way to get to know the game if you are a juicy photo important. However, from a gameplay point of view, everything is not as smooth as on PS5. The game was originally made for consoles and GamePad. High mouse sensitivity and unlocked FPS leads to the fact that animations have no time behind the sight, which is especially critical in shootouts. Without a car carrier, the character is slowly led to enemies, creating a sense of “viscosity” of control.

Management of the GamePad intuitive, in contrast to the keyboard with the mouse. It is important to control the speed and respond quickly to events. Without an analog stick, the player must constantly keep his finger on the speed line key and in a timely way on the buttons of dumps and attacks in close fighting. It is possible to get used to managing PC, but for better experience we recommend buying a GamePad.

The PC version contains all the extra content of the remister for PS5: the free game mode on the guitar and the No Return, where you have to fight with the NPC on random maps, improve skills and weapons. Although the regime is made clear “on the knee” of the available ascets, it will like the fans of the last of us: part 2 combat system. We have spent a few hours with pleasure and again losing that the naughty dog has canceled the multiplayer – no return proved that the Tlou2 gameplay is perfect for network modes.

Problems and roughness
Despite good performance and excellent images, the PC version suffers from bugs that have not met consoles. At snow -covered locations, textures are displayed incorrectly – snow often “buggy” under the foot. Freezing is freezing in open spaces because of the compilation of shaders. Character models can “break” and teleport.

The malfunctions of animations have occurred regularly seems that the game has no time to reproduce them because of the high FPS. Deal and environmental elements sometimes flicker or disappear with a certain viewing angle. And several times we fell through the textures without the possibility of returning to the location.

The problem with displaying her from the remake of the first part migrated to the sequel. We personally did not meet her, but based on the assessments in Steam, she often meets. Glitchers manifest themselves in different ways. Apparently the developers have not succeeded in fully testing the PC version because of the hard terms linked to the premiere of the series. That is why it is impossible to describe all possible problems – they are too diverse. However, most bugs will certainly repair the patches by the beginning of the summer.
Do you want to play the last of us: part 2 on PC?
The miracle did not happen-the change of the developer did not make the PC port perfect. The Last of Us: Part 2 is a pure console game to which you can not only add mouse and keyboard control. Each of the aspects is made for the GamePad and the images are optimized for PS5.

Yes, the photo is better than in a remaster and the high FPS made a gameplay smoother. But problems with management, bugs and glitches spoil the impression seriously. Tlou2 on consoles – a product that is polished to shine. On PC – again a crooked gate with a lot of problems. We advise you not to hurry with the purchase of a PC version and to wait for the patches.
We are again convinced: some exclusive are better to stay exclusives and not go on other rough platforms.
