On the coming weekend makers of the gloomy RPG Lords of the Fallen grabbed an unusual and upset situation: the Reddit administration strongly opposed the CI Games Developers team in the Union with Hexworks, blocked their access to the official community of the game.
The reason for such a strict measure was polls among gamers, which proposed the participation of players in the formation of further development of the project. Suddenly and democratic voices were considered by moderators as a manifestation of discrimination, and the developers themselves were accused of fascist views.
The most important dispute arose about issues that seemed neutral: the team invited players to decide on conditions to indicate the types of characters and their appearance. Most supported traditional classification, but this caused criticism from Reddit moderators.
The situation acquired a shadow of bias: the developers did not pronounce discriminatory beliefs and only followed the will of the community. Nevertheless, their actions were considered unacceptable, which led to a full block of access to the platform – one of the most important communication channels with fans.
Despite what happened, Hexworks and CI games remain faithful to their principle of priority of players. The developers emphasized the intention to continue the course on active interaction with the community and ignored the political disputes of individual sites. The release of the Lords of the Fallen extension will soon be expected, where more wishes and preferences of gamers will take into account.
