New rumors have appeared on the network pointing to the release date of the next generation console PlayStation 6, which is being developed by Sony.
Netizen and insider Kepler_L2, who previously noted that he had accurately leaked some details of the PS5 Pro console, talked about the next generation console PS6. According to the insider, work on the device has been completed. Sony has reportedly completed work on the SoC (System-on-a-Chip) and is currently undergoing preliminary testing of the PlayStation 6 console. According to an insider, Sony is currently conducting digital testing to ensure the new gaming device works as intended. The console is scheduled for release in late 2027.
At the same time, insider Kepler_L2 also shared some technical information about the future PS6. For example, the console’s GPU is said to be based on the UDNA architecture (formerly known as RDNA5), the successor to AMD’s RDNA4. Other details about Sony’s new gaming device have not yet been announced. It’s worth noting that if the PS6 does indeed release in late 2027, it would mean the life cycle of its predecessor, the PS5, will last around 7 years. The PlayStation 4 console once had the same life cycle.
It’s also worth noting that Microsoft’s new Xbox console may be out before its rival, according to rumors. Not so long ago, insiders admitted that the new Xbox, which may be called Xbox Prime, is scheduled for release in 2026.
