We have already written about many great open games created by players in Baldur’s Gate 3. Recently, fans of Larian Studios’ fantasy RPG found a hint of a coded message that could be hidden in the spell icons.
A Reddit user nicknamed samuelazers noticed that almost all the spell icons on the panel have three dots. He suggested that this could be some kind of code, the solution of which would reveal a secret message. Considering how many secrets are hidden in Baldur’s Gate, the theory seems plausible.
The post sparked a lot of comments in the community and received more than 4,000 upvotes on Reddit. In the comments they expressed an educated guess that the number “three” is magical in many fantasy universes, which is why almost all spell icons were given three dots. Some suggested that this was simple mischief on the part of the artist, who decided to force fans to look for meaning where there is none. Redditors even joked that dots could act as a “crutch” in code, like the image of a coconut Team Fortress 2, whose removal pauses the game.
There’s a really obvious system to the spell icons: only three dots appear everywhere, not one or two. Maybe one day Larian Studios will reveal if there is a secret behind this.
Previously, a fan-made DLC was released for Baldur’s Gate 3 with a new class, faction, quests, and skill branch. The mod has been translated into Russian.
