Merlin Entertainments has announced a partnership with Mojang Studios to create theme parks and attractions inspired by Minecraft. The company plans to invest $110 million in the project. The opening should take place in 2026-2027.

Partnering with Merlin Entertainments is an incredibly exciting step for us at Mojang Studios. Merlin’s experience creating world-class attractions makes them the ideal partner to help us bring Minecraft to life in new and exciting ways in permanent locations around the world. Our large and diverse community is always looking for new ways to learn and interact with Minecraft, and we’re excited to create touchpoints around the world that will surprise and delight them. These new, real-world Minecraft experiences will not only expand our community, but will also provide fans with many more opportunities to immerse themselves in the world of Minecraft in ways they never imagined.
Future theme park visitors can expect not only themed attractions, but also special food and drinks. In the announcement, Merlin Entertainments calls the project “Minecraft in real life.”
There are plans to open parks in Great Britain and the United States. Later, Merlin Entertainments also hopes to launch attractions in other countries.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. Pictures is preparing a Minecraft movie, which will be released in April 2025. Quite recently, a full-fledged trailer featuring the main characters appeared online.
